Skulls are cool!

I was just surfing on west49 and found these cool skull shoes!

...and on Ebay I found this awesome thermal skull print shirt! (I'll probably get it after my next invoice has been paid! *yay*)

P.S: The store is called Redemption Department

Anyways, I know this is sounding unmusic related but I can relate it to music! Check out this track Hussy by Crystal Skulls. It isn't crazy screamo death metal, it's actually pretty mellow retro sounding rock! I couldn't find their homepage to post here so I'm going to post up their Last FM profile: Crystal Skulls @ Last FM

Enjoy!

A Place to Share & Discover New Music

While surfing the net for new music (as usual), I stumbled across a real neat forum; it's called Magle International Music Forums." There are several music forums that you can participate in such as Classical Music Forum, Progressive Rock Music Forum, etc. It's a great place to find new music from music lovers, just like you! There's a music review section where you can post your own reviews of music (much like what I do here) and you can also check out other people's recommendations.

Not only can you discuss music, there's another neat section for other arts where you can discuss architecture, painting and photography. The community is super friendly. You can show off your art pieces in this section and receive friendly reviews and input about it. If you're one of those cool art kids, this is for you!!

This forum is also great for musicians. There's a section where members can review your music and site! You can also network with other musicians in a separate section.

The forum is super friendly, highly active (there's always something new to read and discuss when you login). Why not give it a shot?

Alizee (good french music!)

Ok. This isn't not rock or electro.. it's not even indie! it's French pop. What!? Dare I say pop? Why is it posted here!? Well.. I must admit that I enjoy listening to Alizee's tracks.. maybe they're the vocals? I guess french class in junior high didn't make me hate listening to french music! (We use to re-listen to the same songs everyday for a week to help us prepare for a spelling quiz on the lyrics!). Anyways, Alizee is pretty popular in France. Some of her tracks are.. filled with jumpy piano keys, cheesy old school synths, drum machines (sometimes). Yeah, I know that makes her tracks sound cheesy.. but other tracks have strings, guitars, and real drums! (Those are her best tracks in my opinion). The vocals are so perfect.. like.. wow, she's got talent. The tracks are shamefully awesome, seriously.

Have a listen to "J'ai Pas Vingt Ans" It's the best track out of the rest in my opinion. It also sounds more "modern" than the rest of her tracks. You can disregard the description above for this track 'cause there are guitars and real good beats on this track! I love it! (P.S: The lyrics are pretty sweet if you can understand it!)

Fav Tracks
J'ai Pas Vingt Ans
Hey Amigo
Lui ou Toi
J'en ai Marre
Moi Lolita

The Soho Dolls, electro with a rock edge

The Soho Dolls, electro with a rock edge. Often compared to Goldfrapp.. but I don't hear the similarity. Check out their track 'Stripper', nothing like Goldfrapp's Strict Machine at all. Yeah, they both use synths, so what? You can hear a hint of Marilyn Manson influence in this track with their thick synth bass line and rocking beats intro. But other than that, there's nothing else like this out there.

Can you say stripper music?

Well ana you're late
And maya, i'm here.
The boys in the band,
Decide to appear.
We walk through the door
Savour the air.
The girls on the floor,
I've come here to stare.
We've come here to stare.

Yeah

Dont touch the girls,
Dont kiss the girls,
I have the right to pull the girls.
Get in a fight,
On every night,
The scratches, the bruises and the bites.
But i wanna touch,
And i wanna kiss,
And if you say no then i will persist,
With you tonight,
You'll make it right.
You know that you're wetting my appetite.

You can call me x,
You can call me y,
You can call me z,
You can come and try.
Come and try.

Dont know what you think you're doing to me,
(Hey! Stripper, Hey! Stripper)
Dont know what you see its getting to me,
(Hey! Stripper, Hey! I wanna be your mister)
Na na, Na na, Na na, Na na, Na

Like you're perfume,
Your skin is smooth.
The way you move,
Im in the mood.
Tease the crowd,
Please the crowd,
I'm boiling i want you to see me now.
You get me girl,
When you're nervous well,
And when your hand is in the thong.
You may be right,
I close them tight,
You're saving the best for me tonight.

You can call me x,
You can call me y,
You can call me z,
You can come and try.
Come and try.

Dont know what you think you're doing to me,
(Hey! Stripper, Hey! Stripper)
Dont know what you see its getting to me,
(Hey! Stripper, Hey! I wanna be your mister)
Na na, Na na, Na na, Na na, Na

I've come to stare,
I've come to stare,
You like me to stare?
I like your underwear.

I've come to stare,
I've come to stare,
You like me to stare?
I am a voyeur.

Dont know what you think you're doing to me,
(Hey! Stripper, Hey! Stripper)
Dont know what you see its getting to me,
(Hey! Stripper, Hey! I wanna be your mister)
Na na, Na na, Na na, Na na, Na

Kasabian's New Album - Empire

Ok, it's been a while since I've posted (blame the University of Toronto). But anyways, it's kind of late but.. if you haven't checked out Kasabian's new album "Empire" you must go out and get it RIGHT now!!! go!!! Their first track, Empire is their greatest track of all time; With fast pulsing bass and pounding beats, how could you not agree?

If you want to sample the song for the first time, just head over to youtube and type in kasabian. (The intro to their music video Empire is kind of long, but be patient! It's worth it.)
